If you want to paint a stripe down a wall here’s what you do:
Step 1. Decide where you want the stripe to start
Step 2. Measure accurately from one of the walls on either side
Step 3. Mark the wall LIGHTLY!
Step 4. Decide how thick you want the stripe to be. Mark the wall LIGHTLY!
Step 5. Use a plumb-line, a vertical spirit-level or a laser to draw a vertical
line down the wall on either side
Step 6. Carefully and accurately apply low-tack masking-tape on the edge of
each line. This gives you the area to be painted
